Plot summary
Summer in the Atchafalaya Basin, and the town is getting ready for Gator Fest. A deal to smuggle animals goes wrong, and a big sea creature gets loose in a backwoods river. At the McDaniel family's Gator Shack, a drunk local named Jackson is mauled. Sheriff Watson pins the attack on the family's alligators and moves to take them to jail. Rachel McDaniel, who runs the restaurant, insists the fin she saw belongs to a shark. With help from a stranger named Charlie, she and her family set out to clear their name and to protect the crowds expected at Gator Fest.
