Plot summary
Private detective Jake Dekker is hired by an insurance company to go to Acapulco and look into the death of a rich industrialist, Theron. To hide why he is really there, Dekker pretends to be a wealthy vacationer and pays model Ellie Morgan to act as his wife. At a party after their arrival, the couple meet Theron's grown children, Joanna and Karl. Joanna seems genuinely sad about her father's death, but Karl appears indifferent and makes an unsuccessful romantic advance toward Ellie.
