Plot summary
Captain Rameses commands the Legion of the Winged Serpent, aliens whose home planet Alpha faces a supernova. He leads flying saucers to Earth to judge whether his people could live there. His crew abducts humans and finds races share ancestry. A device makes the abductees kill themselves, hiding Legion's presence; a larger version is meant to make everyone on Earth do the same. The Intergalactic League of Races, aliens from Zeta Reticuli, keeps a base on Earth inside a pyramid. Rameses visits it posing as a researcher, and the League warns him that the Galactic Treaty forbids contact with humans.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Starship Invasions (1977)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Starship Invasions had to be retitled twice because its titles echoed other 1977 blockbusters: it was first called War of the Aliens, which sounded too much like Star Wars, then Alien Encounter, which sounded too much like Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
- Many elements of the film, including the design of its robots and the winged serpent emblem worn by the black-clad villains, were taken from real UFO accounts.
