Plot summary
Disguised as humans, a group of Antareans arrives in St. Petersburg, Florida, and takes a house with a pool. They hire the local captain Jack Bonner and his boat, the Manta III, to lift cocoons off the sea floor. The cocoons hold Antareans left behind on the group's outpost on Atlantis, and the pool water carries a life force that will keep them alive on the trip home. Next door, at the Sunny Shores Rest Home, three residents named Ben Luckett, Arthur Selwyn and Joe Finley slip into the pool to swim. They soak up some of the life force and start to feel younger and stronger. Walter, the leader of the Antareans, catches them, then allows them to keep swimming so long as they stay away from the cocoons and say nothing to anyone else.
