Plot summary
Nathaniel Reed keeps a ranch now and lives quietly there with Laura Lee, his wife, under a name that is not the one he rode under as an outlaw. Woody Calhoun, the man Reed maimed during a stagecoach robbery, has since become a U.S. Marshal. Reed learns that Calhoun has been looking for him, wanting revenge for the wound, and will not let the matter rest.
