Plot summary
Min Lo Chan, China's Minister of Industrial Development and a friend of J. Jonah Jameson from their college days, leaves China for the United States and stays with his niece Emily Chan in New York. He wants to find three ex-Marines who tried during the war to buy secrets about Mao Zedong from him, an offer he refused, and whose testimony can clear him of the accusations against him. Jameson asks Peter Parker to find the men quietly. In Hong Kong, the industrialist Charles Zeider is bidding to build a billion-dollar power plant for the Chinese government, and he knows Min favors another company. If Min is convicted, his successor will give Zeider the contract, so Zeider sends Clyde Evans to make sure Min never returns to China alive. As Spider-Man, Peter keeps saving Min's life.
