John Milford

John Milford was an American actor who worked in theater, television and film and was often cast as a Western villain, with an estimated 500 television appearances. Born in Johnstown, New York, he studied civil engineering at Union College before turning to acting, and he began his television work in the 1940s on What's My Name? He made his film debut in Marty in 1955, then took dozens of screen and television roles, including Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Fugitive, The Rifleman, The Big Valley and The Virginian. He played Ike Clanton in ten episodes of The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp from 1959 to 1960 and Cole Younger in The Legend of Jesse James in 1965. He founded the Chamber Theater and helped launch the careers of Richard Chamberlain and Vic Morrow, and he played Albert Einstein in the video game Command & Conquer: Red Alert, released in 1996. He died in 2000.
