Plot summary
Hawk, once a colonel in the Space Service, now leads a band of pirates. His crew boards a freighter belonging to the interstellar corporation known as The Company and steals it, unaware that ten-year-old Peter has slipped aboard to hide. When Peter comes out and asks to be taken home, Hawk first considers ransoming the boy. A skirmish with Company fighters changes his mind: Peter squeezes into a cramped compartment and repairs a damaged power conduit so the ship can escape, and Hawk promises to return him to his home planet, Procyon III. On Procyon III, Peter's father talks with a Company security chief about tracking the boy down.

- The sets for Space Raiders were repurposed and modified from Roger Corman's earlier productions Battle Beyond the Stars and Android, and some of them were later reused in Fred Olen Ray's film Star Slammer.
- Because director Howard R. Cohen had little directing experience when he took on Space Raiders, producer Roger Corman brought in Eric Morris a week before shooting began to help Cohen set up the shots.
