Plot summary
Fred, a middle-aged lawyer, turns up at Velvet's rowhouse in Brooklyn, the first time he has seen her in four years. He says he has left his wife and wants to pick up where they left off. Velvet is not interested. She tells him to go, then says she has an appointment with his son, Chris. Fred stays anyway. What begins as a plea becomes an insistence, and the two of them argue about what they had and why it ended. The film runs in real time and never leaves the house, with only Fred and Velvet for company.
