Plot summary
Jenna Hudson and Kevin Jenner work for Epiphany, a New York online magazine, and they do not get along. Their editor, Simone Jenkins, sends both of them to cover Aspen at Christmas, with the job going to whoever's article draws more readers. Neither wants a personal Christmas: Kevin has stayed away from his family since his father died, and Jenna's fiancé, Andrew, broke up with her a month earlier. Bad weather forces their plane to land in Santa Claus, Indiana, where the only rooms are at the Winters Inn, a bed and breakfast run by Christopher and Carol Winters. The couple say the inn was founded by St. Nick and have no deed to prove it, and the building may not survive past spring. Jenna and Kevin begin writing about the inn instead.
