Tasha Smith
Biography
Tasha Smith is an American actress and director born in Camden, New Jersey, who got her start as a series regular on the NBC sitcom Boston Common, which ran from 1996 to 1997. Supporting parts followed in The Whole Ten Yards (2004), Daddy's Little Girls (2007), The Longshots (2008), Couples Retreat (2009), Jumping the Broom (2011), Addicted (2014), Dolemite Is My Name (2019) and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024). She played Angela Williams in Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? (2007) and Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010), and in the television series based on those films, For Better or Worse. She also appeared regularly on the Fox musical drama Empire between 2015 and 2020. Her first directing work came in 2015, on the short film Boxed in, and she later directed the TV movie When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story and an episode of P-Valley.
