Plot summary
A king and his good queen rule their kingdom. One winter day, sewing by a window, the queen pricks her finger and a drop of blood falls on the snow. The king says their child will have skin as white as snow, cheeks as red as blood and hair as black as ebony. The queen bears a daughter, Snow White, and dies soon after. The king marries again, and the new queen is jealous of the girl. When her magic mirror declares Snow White the fairest in the land, the queen sends a huntsman to take her into the forest and kill her.
