Plot summary
Walter is a middle-aged policeman in a small Ontario farming town where Mennonite families make up most of the population. A violent past left him an outcast there, and he has since kept to a reformed life. That quiet breaks when a young woman's body is discovered near a lake, the area's first murder in decades. The 911 call about the find is traced to Rita, who lies under police questioning and says she spent the evening of the crime with her new lover, Steve. Officers learn that Steve and the young woman had each been at a nearby strip club that night.
