Plot summary
Slim waits tables in a Los Angeles diner, where Mitch Hiller steps in when a man harasses her on a bet. They marry, settle into a large house and have a daughter, Gracie. Six years later, Slim learns Mitch has been repeatedly unfaithful and shows no remorse for it. When she threatens to leave, he beats her and tells her he will not let her go. Slim's friend Ginny urges her to press charges, and Mitch's mother hints that Mitch has a history of abuse, but the police cannot help her. Realizing Mitch has been watching her through other people, Slim decides to take Gracie and go.

- Jennifer Lopez revealed in 2008 that she had overworked during the filming of Enough and had a nervous breakdown: "I froze up on set. Well, not on a set, but in my trailer. I was like, I don't want to move, I don't want to talk."
- Sandra Bullock was originally cast to play Slim, a waitress, but Variety reported in November 2000 that she had to back out of Enough because of a scheduling conflict with another film.
- Lopez thought she should learn tai chi or taekwondo for the film but was worried about learning it at an expert level in a short time, so her trainer suggested Krav Maga, the official self-defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces.
- Discussing the resolution of the film, ABC News journalist Diane Sawyer told Lopez that people in the abuse counseling industry have said "you can't tell women that; they can't do that. That's something that's dangerous, even to see it in their minds."
- Jennifer Lopez was nominated for the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress for Enough and Maid in Manhattan, but lost in a tie to both Madonna for Swept Away and Britney Spears for Crossroads.
