Plot summary
In 1985 in the Bronx, Millie and her husband Wilson DeLeon Sr. are expecting their first child. Wilson sells drugs for Javier Cordero, and Millie launders his earnings into investments meant to free him from that trade. He is killed at a meeting with Javier on the night Wilson Jr. is born. Two decades later, in a Connecticut mansion, Millie raises Wilson Jr., a college student with a girlfriend called Ana, and his younger brother Randy. She has never told Wilson Jr. about his father, and the boyfriends she keeps bother him. At a grocery store she spots a former friend from her past and tells Randy they must leave at once. Wilson Jr. demands the truth: his father sold drugs, Javier is still hunting her, and she keeps a hidden store of guns. He stays with Ana.
