Plot summary
Emily Dietz, who advocates for prisoners, asks Roy Freeman to sit down with a man on death row. Isaac Samuel was convicted of killing Dr. Joseph Wieder and says his confession was pressured out of him by Jimmy Remis, a detective who once worked alongside Roy. Roy has retired from the homicide squad and has Alzheimer's disease; an experimental treatment is his attempt to get pieces of his memory back, and he rereads the old case files. He asks Jimmy why they never examined the records of another suspect, Richard Finn, whose fingerprints were found throughout Dr. Wieder's house. Jimmy agrees to look into it.
