Plot summary
In Pangnirtung, Nunavut, four teenage girls are bored and eager to attend a party. They boat to the land without adults, and Maika brings her father's rifle. A strange polar bear attacks Maika's little sister, so the girls shoot it and flee. Uki returns to the area and locates an alien artifact. She observes the bear and an elk moving a body toward the object, which then drains the blood.

- Pangnirtung was already short of housing, so the production of Slash/Back flew in fifty beds and put the crew up in two local schools, and ran acting workshops to find local girls for the cast.
- Slash/Back became the first production to film in the Inuit hamlet of Pangnirtung, Nunavut, with principal photography on Baffin Island in summer 2019.
