Plot summary
Angela worked at a doctor's office that closed after its doctor was shot to death by Abraham Baarker, an anti-abortion protester who was arrested soon after. Angela opens a clinic in her own home and provides basic services there. The Baarker family believes she performs abortions, and they blame her for recent infant deaths in the town, which they read as a sign of God's disapproval. The family considers itself God's chosen ones, and the dispute polarizes the town.
