Plot summary
Heidi and Jane are best friends, and Jane holds a rodeo queen title. Jane is also married to a man serving in the military. She is abducted at a rodeo, and Heidi sets off to find her, crossing a hostile desert and meeting a host of unseemly characters along the way. Secrets come to light during her search, and she encounters the violence that life on the road involves.
