Kenny has turned rebellious, Lesley has thrown herself into school activities, and eight-year-old Brian has been shielded from the problem. Then Lyle loses his job to the drinking, and Brian's birthday is spoiled. For Kenny, this is one disappointment too many, and father and son confront each other.
