Plot summary
Marlo Manners, a screen sex symbol, has just taken Sir Michael Barrington as her sixth husband, and her manager Dan Turner has reserved a honeymoon suite for the couple at an exclusive London hotel. The same hotel is hosting an international conference, where delegates have gathered to settle tensions that threaten the world, and they crowd the windows for a glimpse of her arrival. Reporters and admirers swarm the pair in the lobby. In the suite, interviews, photo sessions and dress fittings keep them apart, while former husbands and other men pursue Marlo, among them the Russian delegate Alexei Karansky, who says the negotiations will fail unless she spends another night with him. Dan Turner hunts for an audiotape of Marlo's memoirs and scandals that he wants to destroy.

- One scene of Mae West in an elevator took an entire day to film. After it was done, director Ken Hughes wrapped for the day, but West was not within hearing range to hear the call and stayed in the closed elevator for half an hour before being let out.
- Ken Hughes had rewritten most of the dialogue because he and Mae West both felt the script was weak, which left West no time to study it and memorize her lines. She wore an earpiece so Hughes could feed her the lines.
- About 150 unknowns auditioned in a single day and over a thousand men ended up trying out for the part. Timothy Dalton was cast that August after West saw him in Wuthering Heights.
