Plot summary
With school out, the teenagers gather at Bikini Beach, where millionaire Harvey Huntington Honeywagon III arrives with his pet chimpanzee Clyde. Honeywagon argues to his colleague Vivian Clements that the beachgoers' fixation on sex leaves their minds below a primate's, and Clyde, who surfs, drives and watusi dances, is his proof. As the teenagers lose standing, Honeywagon presses ahead with his plan to turn the beach into a retirement home, and Eric Von Zipper joins his anti-teen campaign. A British rocker and drag racer, Peter Royce Bentley, settles on Bikini Beach as the Potato Bug. Frankie's reluctance to move toward marriage leaves Dee Dee open to the newcomer, and a jealous Frankie answers with a challenge: the two will race their cars.
