Plot summary
At the end of the millennium, Carlos and Ana share an apartment in Mexico City. Carlos is an intellectual and a writer, Ana is a photographer, and their marriage is in crisis because Carlos does not offer Ana the love she needs. Tomás, a friend of the couple who has traveled the world for seven years and who was once Ana's boyfriend, comes to stay with them. Across the street, the womanizing executive Miguel and his wife Andrea, a former model, have a troubled marriage of their own. María, a zoologist and an old passion of Miguel's, arrives to visit the couple.
