Plot summary
Eighteen-year-old Ian Lafferty has just finished high school in Bartlett, Illinois. He chats with a girl online, presenting himself as attractive and strong though in truth he is sweet and unassuming. The girl calls herself Ms. Tasty and lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, and she invites him to come and see her. Ian takes the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that belongs to his older brother Rex without asking, and sets off with Lance Nesbitt and Felicia Alpine, his two best friends. On the road the radiator overheats, and a hitchhiker they meet goes his own way. Ezekiel, an Amish man, and his friends repair the car, and the travelers go to a Rumspringa party where Lance meets an Amish girl named Mary.
