Plot summary
John and Ella Spencer have been married for more than fifty years and are now in their eighties. Ella has cancer and has chosen to stop treatment, and John has Alzheimer's. Rather than let their adult children and doctors run their lives, they take to the road in their 1978 Leisure Seeker RV, bound for Ernest Hemingway's home in Key West, Florida. Ella rides beside John as he drives, and along the way the couple muse about their marriage and meet people at the stops they make. Ella wants to prove that a person can go back for a little more time even when everyone says otherwise.
