Plot summary
Isaac Amin is a wealthy Jewish gemologist in Tehran. In the months that follow the 1979 revolution in Iran, the Revolutionary Guards arrive at his office and arrest him, and he is taken to a prison. There he meets fellow prisoners of different backgrounds. An interrogator named Mohsen has him lashed and burns him with a lit cigarette, telling him that the revolution brings justice to the oppressed and that men of means like Isaac are the injustice it corrects.
