Plot summary
An American actress, Jean Seberg flies from Paris, leaving her husband Romain Gary and their child, for Los Angeles. In first class she watches a Black passenger insist on sitting there and demand preferential treatment for Malcolm X's widow. The passenger introduces himself as Hakim Jamal, who belongs to the Black Panther Party, and Seberg appears attracted to him. When the plane lands she notices Black activists at the airport protesting the treatment Jamal and his companions received on the flight, and she joins them, her fist raised in a Black power salute. FBI agents working undercover, among them Jack Solomon, are at the airport. Solomon proposes that the bureau shadow her and tap her telephone conversations because of her apparent ties to the Black Power movement.
