Plot summary
Max is twenty-five and earns his living as a freelance writer in London, moving through the city's cultural circles, and he wants to be a novelist. He has a debut book in mind and has been searching for the way into it. At night he goes by the name Sebastian and meets men through an escorting platform, a second life he keeps apart from the first. Those hours give him a kind of exhilaration his days do not, and they become material he brings to his fiction. With both halves of his life running at once, the novel he has been chasing is closer than it has ever been.
