Plot summary
Velma Dinkley and her friends in Mystery Inc. solve a museum case in San Francisco with help from Ben Ravencroft, a horror writer she admires. He then invites them to Oakhaven, Massachusetts, his hometown, where Mayor Corey has built a tourist trade around Sarah Ravencroft, Ben's ancestor, executed as a witch by Puritan settlers in 1657. Ben says Sarah was a Wiccan who healed the poor with herbs, and that her medical diary, which he has hunted for years, will prove it. During the Autumn Harvest Festival, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Rogers are chased by a ghostly figure, and a gothic rock band, the Hex Girls, draw a crowd to town.
