Jane Wiedlin

Jane Wiedlin is an American songwriter, guitarist and singer who started the Go-Go's with Belinda Carlisle in 1978 as a punk band, and she played rhythm guitar and sang backing vocals for the group. The band helped popularize new wave and became one of the most successful American acts of the 1980s, and she co-wrote Our Lips Are Sealed with Terry Hall of the Specials. She has released four solo albums, and Rush Hour made number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. She acted in Clue (1985) as the singing telegram girl, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) as Joan of Arc, and she later appeared in Stuck! (2009). She has voiced characters in animation, among them Dusk, the drummer of the cartoon band the Hex Girls. In 2021 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the Go-Go's, who also have a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
