Plot summary
In ancient China, General Meng Yi is ordered to bring the Korean princess Ok-Soo to the Qin emperor, who means to make her his concubine. Meng Yi is hurt while shielding her on the road. In the present, Jack, an archaeologist, dreams of that life as if it were his own. With his friend William he travels to a floating tomb in India belonging to a Dasar prince, hunting a rare material that produces a zero-gravity field. The field fails, Jack falls into a river, and Samantha pulls him out and takes him to her uncle, a Kalaripayattu guru. Dueling one of the guru's students, Jack glimpses Meng Yi dueling the Dasar prince. Back home, the pair give a sword to the National Museum of China, angering Professor Koo, who heads the syndicate that pays for their expeditions.
