Biography

Tom McGowan is an American actor, born in Belmar, who began his career on the stage and became known for both theater and screen work. His first Broadway role, in La Bête in 1991, brought nominations for a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award in the lead actor in a play categories. His performance in Nicky Silver's The Food Chain earned him an Obie Award. He has portrayed the Wizard in Wicked across Broadway, national touring companies and the West End since 2009, and in 2016 he took the role of Ladislav Sipos in the Broadway revival of She Loves Me. He is also known for playing Kenny Daly, the station manager, in a recurring role on Frasier. His film credits include Heavyweights (1995), The Birdcage (1996), Ghost World (2001), Bad Santa (2003) and 12 and Holding (2005).
