Santhanam

Biography

Santhanam is a Tamil film actor who started out in small parts, making his debut in Pesatha Kannum Pesume, and after the success of Lollu Sabha he returned to Tamil cinema in Manmadhan (2004). He went on to share the screen with many of the industry's biggest names, among them Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith, Surya Sivakumar, Karthi Sivakumar, Jayam Ravi and Arya, and he worked repeatedly with Silambarasan. He took a leading role in Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul (2008) alongside Prakash Raj. Rather than performing a comedy track apart from the main story, as Vadivelu and Vivek did, he played the hero's friend or foil, adding to the plot itself. He won the Vijay Award for Best Comedian in 2010 for Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009), and drew wide praise for his roles in M. Rajesh's films, including Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran (2010).
