Ronald Squire

Biography

Ronald Squire was an English character actor who started out in light comedy in Liverpool repertory before turning to films. He was born in Tiverton, Devon, attended Wellington College and worked as a journalist before training at RADA. His stage beginnings led to a long screen career, with parts in The Rocking Horse Winner, Man with a Million (1954) and Around the World in Eighty Days (1956). He also appeared in many West End plays, among them On Approval, The Bread-Winner, All Rights Reserved, Ducks and Drakes, While the Sun Shines, Jane, The Way Things Go, The Iron Duchess, A Penny for a Song and A Touch of the Sun. He died in 1958.
