Paul Carr
Biography
Paul Carr was an American actor, director and writer whose stage, film and television career lasted about fifty years. Born in New Orleans, he acted locally before moving to New York, where he trained at the American Theatre Wing. After a brief spell in the Marines, he took a role in a New Orleans staging of Melville's Billy Budd and worked in live New York television during the mid 1950s. His film debut came in 1955 with a small part in Hitchcock's The Wrong Man, and he later appeared in Captain Newman, M.D. (1963). Television kept him busy as a guest in westerns like Gunsmoke and Rawhide and in science fiction; he played Lee Kelso in the second Star Trek pilot and had a recurring part in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. He appeared in close to 100 stage productions and won a 1987 LA Weekly Theater Award and a 1995 Dramalogue Award.

Carr used the name Lee Kelso, his Star Trek character, as a pseudonym for his voice work in the English dubs of the anime series Cowboy Bebop and Trigun.
