Karen Young

Karen Young is an American actress who has worked in film, television, and theater. Born in Pequannock Township, New Jersey, she studied English at Rutgers University before moving to New York City to act. Her screen debut came in Tony Garnett's 1983 vigilante thriller Handgun. She went on to appear in Nine 1/2 Weeks (1986), Heat (1986), Jaws: The Revenge (1987), Torch Song Trilogy (1988), Night Game (1989), Daylight (1996), and Conviction (2010), along with independent and foreign features including Heading South and Two Gates of Sleep. On television, she appeared on The Equalizer in 1985 as Officer Sandra Stahl, later played FBI Agent Robyn Sanseverino on The Sopranos, and took roles across the Law & Order franchise. Her stage work includes A Lie of the Mind in New York, as Sally in 1985 and Lorraine in Ethan Hawke's 2010 production, and the cast was recognized by The New Yorker critic Hilton Als as among the best performers of 2010.
