Jim Sturgeon
Biography
Jim Sturgeon is a Scottish actor whose first brush with performing came through his local young farmers club, where he took part in annual variety concerts. He left school at sixteen to work on a dairy and livestock farm, then decided to pursue acting and, at twenty-eight, won a place on the acting course at The Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama. After graduating in 2003 he moved to London, and his career has included film, television and extensive stage work in Scotland and London. He appeared in the West End with Kenneth Cranham and Claire Skinner in the award-winning play The Father by Florian Zellar, and in 2018 he returned to the West End as Dr Alec Harvey in Kneehigh Theatre's production of Brief Encounter, which Emma Rice directed.
