Jerry Adler

Jerry Adler was an American actor, producer and director who, raised in Brooklyn by a theater manager father, began his career as a stage manager in 1950 on productions that included My Fair Lady. He later supervised Broadway shows such as Annie and I Remember Mama, and directed the 1974 revue Words and Music and a 1976 revival of My Fair Lady that brought him a Drama Desk Award nomination. He took up acting in 1991 with the television series Brooklyn Bridge, and his film work included The Public Eye (1992), Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993), Prime (2005) and In Her Shoes (2005). He was perhaps best known as Hesh Rabkin on The Sopranos from 1999 to 2007, and he also played the lawyer Howard Lyman on The Good Wife and The Good Fight. In 2024 he published a memoir, Too Funny for Words.
