Plot summary
Molly, in college and heavily in debt, waits tables at a restaurant run by Baptiste and shares an apartment with Jolene, holding on to her dream of opening a flower shop. Gus, once an astronomer at Mount Wilson Observatory in California, came home to New Orleans after an aneurysm damaged his memory, and now works in Sam's jewelry store, keeping track of his days through written reminders, with help from his sister Lucy and his best friend Jerry. Gus and Molly meet at the diner where she works and are drawn to each other, and he starts leaving himself reminders to see her. He does not tell her about his memory.
