Ian Pirie
Biography
Ian Pirie is a Scottish actor from Aberdeen who turned professional in 1996, when he auditioned without formal training for a West End revival of Jesus Christ Superstar. Musical work followed, including Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera and Notre Dame De Paris, where he played Quasimodo. He later moved into straight theater with roles in Edward Hall's Macbeth, The Postman Always Rings Twice, two seasons with the RSC and a lead in the National Theatre of Scotland's Black Watch. His screen credits include supporting parts in I Am Soldier (2014) and Die Another Day (2002), a lead in the independent film Who Needs Enemies, and a regular role as Captain Dragonetti in Da Vinci's Demons. He appeared as Chae Strachan in Terance Davies's Sunset Song and filmed Tommy's Honour for director Jason Connery.
