Biography

Hattie Morahan is an English actress. Born in Lambeth in 1978, she graduated from New Hall, Cambridge with a BA in English in 2000 before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2001. Her early stage work with the company included Love in a Wood at Stratford-upon-Avon and Hamlet at the Barbican. Her performance as Nora Helmer in A Doll's House at the Young Vic brought her Best Actress honors from the Evening Standard Awards and the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards in 2012, along with an Olivier nomination. On screen she has appeared in The Golden Compass (2007), The Bank Job (2008), Sense and Sensibility (2008), winning Best Actress at the Shanghai Television Festival for the latter, Mr. Holmes (2015), Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Luther: The Fallen Sun (2023). She played Alice in The Bletchley Circle from 2012 to 2014.
