Gary Gray
Biography
Gary Gray was an American actor who began as a child performer in films and later worked in television. Born in Los Angeles, he entered movies after Bert Wheeler and Jack Benny, two clients of his father, suggested he be used. He made his film debut in A Woman's Face in 1941 and went on to small parts in Gaslight (1944), Heaven Can Wait (1943), and Meet Me in St. Louis (1944). He took larger roles in Return of the Bad Men (1948), playing opposite Randolph Scott, and in Rachel and the Stranger, also from 1948, with Robert Mitchum. Credits included The Next Voice You Hear (1950) and Wild Heritage (1958). In 1956 he was cast as Jackie Jensen in The Jackie Jensen Story on the anthology series Cavalcade of America. By high school graduation he had made more than 70 films, though his adult acting work was mostly in television. He retired from acting in the early 1960s.
