Finbar Lynch

Finbar Lynch is an Irish actor whose stage career began in Dublin theater. At eighteen he went around local theaters looking for work, but was turned away for lack of experience, so he took a backstage job and eventually auditioned for a small part in Tennessee Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire, which launched him as a performer. Years later, on Broadway, he played Canary Jim in the rediscovered Williams play Not About Nightingales, a role that brought him both a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Play in 1999. On television, Lynch has held recurring roles in the soap Glenroe, Proof, Breathless, and the miniseries Small World, and he appeared as Doctor Martin Wells in the Bourne spinoff series Treadstone. He has also done smaller parts in series such as Waking the Dead, Foyle's War, Game of Thrones, DCI Banks and Inspector George Gently.
