Plot summary
Gordon Townsend raised his daughters Amy and Kim on the idea that monogamy is not realistic, and twenty-three years later Amy writes a column for a men's magazine in New York, drinks hard and dates Steven while sleeping with other men. Her boss Dianna hands her a profile of Aaron Conners, a sports doctor, though Amy knows nothing about sports. Mid-interview a text from Kim about moving Gordon into a cheaper assisted-living facility leaves her gasping, and Aaron calms her, then takes her to dinner. He praises her writing; after drinks she proposes his apartment. She has a rule against sleeping over, but stays. The next morning he calls for another date, and she panics.
