Bill Mumy
Biography
Bill Mumy is an American actor and musician who also writes and produces. Born in San Gabriel, California, he started acting at age seven and rose to prominence as a child actor during the 1960s, with television roles on Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, plus the film Dear Brigitte (1965). His breakthrough came as Will Robinson in the sci-fi series Lost in Space, which ran from 1965 to 1968. He later appeared in the films Rascal (1969) and Bless the Beasts and Children (1971). In the 1990s he played Lennier across all five seasons of Babylon 5 and narrated many episodes of the Emmy-winning Biography. Mumy has also done extensive voice work, written and co-created the Nickelodeon show Space Cases, and pursued music as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer, earning an Emmy nomination for original music on Adventures in Wonderland (1992).

Big break
Bill Mumy's career took off when he was picked to play Will Robinson, a 9-year-old, in Lost in Space, the science fiction series CBS broadcast from 1965 to 1968. His character appeared in 84 episodes.

Mumy started working professionally when he was seven years old. Since then he has appeared in over four hundred TV episodes, eighteen films, commercials, and many voiceover projects.

In 1996, Mumy helped create and write Space Cases, a show on Nickelodeon whose themes resembled those of Lost in Space.
Getting ready for a role
Mumy played Kellin on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in 1998 and was glad the character was human, since playing Lennier on Babylon 5 had required prosthetic makeup.

Mumy and Angela Cartwright wrote a 2015 book called Lost (and Found) in Space, and the two also wrote a 2021 follow-up, Lost (and Found) in Space 2: Blast Off into the Expanded Edition.
