Plot summary
Peter Jade earns a living as a thief, and a circuit board he takes during a job puzzles him. He works out that a matching board exists and that the two together can open a safe at the international diamond exchange. Philip Chamberlain, who runs a criminal organization, already holds the second board and has drawn the same conclusion, so he begins searching for its counterpart. That leaves Peter needing David, his twin, a police officer, and the two men have almost nothing in common. Chamberlain's syndicate hunts them, and the brothers have to stay ahead of the pursuers it sends.
