Beau Starr
Biography
Beau Starr was an American actor who worked in film and television, known for playing Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and returning to the part in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989). Born in Queens, New York City, he played professional football before turning to acting, and in 1980 he took a part in the play The Set-Up for The American Theatre of Actors. His first feature film role came in the 1982 comedy Hanky Panky, and he later appeared in Carl Reiner's Summer School (1987) and Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990) as Henry Hill's father. On television, his well-known role was Lieutenant Harding Welsh in the 1990s Canadian series Due South, and he starred in Rituals, Bizarre and True Blue; he also appeared in made-for-television movies and Canadian productions such as Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye and Doc, with guest roles on many series.
