Barbara Tarbuck
Biography
Barbara Tarbuck was an American actress of film, television, and stage. Born in Detroit in 1942, she started as a child performer on the radio series Storyland and learned from veteran actors on shows like The Lone Ranger, The Shadow, and The Green Hornet. She studied at Wayne State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1963, and later received a master's in theater from the University of Michigan. After working with Indiana University's theater touring company, she won a Fulbright to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She moved to New York City to build a career on stage and screen. She was best known for playing Lady Jane Jacks on General Hospital, and she also appeared in the stage production Where's Charley. In later years she taught acting at UCLA. She died in 2016.
