Adam Deacon

Biography

Adam Deacon is an English actor who grew up in Stoke Newington, Hackney and began his screen career with guest appearances in series including The Bill. A role in the 2004 ITV drama Wall of Silence preceded his breakthrough, a starring part in the urban drama Kidulthood (2006). He went on to work with that film's writer-director Noel Clarke until 2011 on projects such as Adulthood (2008), 4.3.2.1 (2010) and the television pilot West 10 LDN. In the urban comedy Anuvahood he was lead actor as well as co-writer and co-director, and in February 2012 he received the BAFTA Rising Star Award. Subsequent credits include Shank (2010), Bonded by Blood, Jack Falls, Everywhere and Nowhere and Payback Season, a guest role in Victim, co-hosting the 2012 Music of Black Origin Awards telecast, and an episode of the BBC soap Doctors in 2021.
