Plot summary
When Asilia Wilson, a governor's daughter, is abducted in East Africa for ransom along with two of her schoolmates, Chloe and Tessa, a multinational mercenary crew is sent in to recover her. Their commander, Sam O'Hara, goes beyond the plan the team was handed and means to bring out all three girls. Her crew includes Elijah, Joey, Bo, the confrontational Mike Barasa and Pata, a Masaai and former jihadist. Zalaam, who heads the cell holding the girls, sends his militia after the mercenaries, and the pursuit leaves the survivors on foot with most of their equipment gone and no working phone.

- M. J. Bassett wrote the screenplay with her daughter intending it as a small pet project, but after producers read it they saw a star vehicle and sent it to Fox's agent, who accepted the next day.
- A postscript at the end of the film states that it is fictional and addresses the illegal lion farms operating in South Africa, which it says must be stopped.
